Guide to NSW’s Jervis Bay

The South Coast is home to some of the bluest waters and whitest sand Australia has to offer. If you’re visiting Australia and are already making your way to Sydney, I suggest adding 2-4 days on to your itinerary so you can visit this wonderful slice of heaven on earth!

Jervis Bay is located 2.5 hours south of the CBD by car and there are an abundance of beautiful beaches to choose from!

Stop in at Huskisson for some fish and chips, while you watch the boats fill in and out of the bay. Afterwards treat yourself to some fudge or ice-cream at The Fudge Shop.

The next day, spend your day beach hopping along the Jervis Bay beaches:

Greenfield Beach

This is a good beach to park your car at, and eventually walk your way around to Hyams Beach. Hyams Beach gets very busy so it is hard to find a decent park in the peak of summer!

Chinamans Beach

There is also a carpark at this beach, which isn’t as popular as Hyams Beach either.

Hyams Beach

One of Australia’s most famous beaches! Make sure you visit this beach to see what all the hype is about. The water really is that colour!

Drive/walk around the streets and see all the beautiful, traditional Australian beach shacks around the Jervis Bay area. These houses just make me want to eat a meat pie while laying in a hammock overlooking the ocean with a classic Australian novel.

Sanctuary Point

I stayed in Sanctuary Point, which backs onto a peaceful lake perfect for stand-up paddle boarding, canoeing, or water sports off the back of a boat such as wake boarding.
