The Best View in Sydney

In my opinion, Sydney hosts one of the most, if not most beautiful harbours in the world. Tourists flock from all corners of the globe to see the famous Harbour Bridge and Opera House amidst the bright blue water.

I have lived in Sydney my whole life and I only recently discovered one of the best views Sydney has to offer, Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, so I wanted to share it with all of you!

How to get there-

Circular Quay is the nearest stop for trains and ferries, or you can choose a slightly longer walk from Town Hall station. Buses stop at the Art Gallery which is an easy 15 minute walk away.

From Circular Quay, Mrs Macquarie’s Chair is about a 20 minute walk past the Opera House and along the foreshore walk in the Royal Botanic Gardens.

Where else can I go from Circular Quay?

From Circular Quay you can take the ferry to many of the beautiful bays around Sydney’s harbour to see more of what Sydney has to offer.

I caught the ferry to Watson’s Bay. But you can opt to go to Rose Bay, Double Bay, Kirribilli or Mosman to name a few. Each suburb is home to boutique shops, cute cafes and amazing views! Spend a day hopping from bay to bay via the ferry or the bus. However, this can quickly add up, so if you’d like to save yourself some money go on a Sunday where you can get unlimited public transport for no more than $2.50!
